| [Russell Maliphant Company was founded in 1996 and has sought to explore a diverse range of techniques including classical ballet, contact improvisation, yoga, capoeira and tai chi. 2004 marks the tenth anniversary of collaboration with lighting designer Michael Hulls. In 2002 Russell Maliphant Company were awarded a TimeOut Live Award for ‘Outstanding Collaboration’, for the work Sheer, and the Peoples Choice award, from the Festival De La Nouvelle Danse, in Montreal.
