The main purpose of this project is regional reconciliation, building of tolerance and acceptance, encouraging academic achievement and youth empowerment through stepping and a teamwork with Step Afrika!’s dancers and stepping teachers. Our Regional Youth Camp will offer a 5-day workshop to teach students (age 15-17) stepping and rhythm. This approach develops children’s creativity, strengthens their communication skills, physical coordination as well as their tolerance and synchronization with each other. It brings them closer together regardless of their upbringing and their cultural or social differences. It also encourages teamwork, listening and performing skills. Daily ‘work hours’ will be 9am – 4pm, with breaks.
Costs for accommodation, food and travel will be covered.
