“DANCE / THEORIES – Reloaded“, no. 18 is realized as a common idea of TkH and Nomad Dance Academy (NDA) with the aim to ``re-load`` theoretical discourses on contemporary dance.

TkH published the issue no. 4 dedicated to dance in 2002, that was exhausted long time ago, but it has still been demanded by the professionals and audience.

On the other hand, Nomad Dance Academy members  realized that access to different theoretical texts were missing in the region; NOMAD students who were in the NOMAD Education Programme asked for it as well as all other professionals around NDA. Therefore, TkH and NDA decided to make the magazine issue that will be dedicated to contemporary dance; this is how the remake of TkH 4 was created, but re-loaded and changed, dedicated to contemporary dance and the changes in its social and cultural environment over the last couple of years.

In the magazine block “Theoretical Reflections” the editing team presents re-makes or new texts of the authors that contributed to the issue 4 (Bojana Kunst, Goran Sergej Pristaš, Jill Sigman or Miško Šuvaković), but also contributions by new authors from the region (ex-Yugoslavia) that have been active in the past years or are upcoming (such as Bojana Bauer, Dragana Bulut and Marko Kostanić as the youngest authors).

Beside that, the block “Profiles of regional dance scenes: Belgrade, Ljubljana, Skopje, Zagreb“, represents novelty in relation to the old issue. There we tried to map dance scenes that have developed in the region since 2000, by representing the work of the choreographers that make difference on those scenes: Dalija Aćin, Bojana Mladenović, Nina Meško, Iskra Šukarova, Nikolina Pristaš and Željka Sančanin.

In this issue we have great number of different authors to whom is given writing space as a place of critical and dissonant discourses of relevant phenomena, notions and problems of contemporary dance and choreography: Bojana Bauer, Dragana Bulut, Bojana Cvejić, Andrew Hewitt, Ana Isaković, Ivana Ivković, Marko Kostanić, Bojana Kunst, André Lepecki, Goran Sergej Pristaš, Jill Sigman, Biljana Tanurovska Kjulavkovski, Miško Šuvaković, Rok Vevar and Ana Vujanović.

TkH br. 18 DANCE / THEORIES – Reloaded is common issue of TkH centre for theory and practice in performing arts from Belgrade, and Nomad Dance Academy.

Financially this magazine issue is supported by European Programme for Culture 2007-2013 and Swiss Cultural Programme in Western Balkans, and is realized as part of the activities of Nomad Dance Academy in the frame of Jardin d`Europe.

The issue is released in English.
