"The exhibition Mary - the Dream of Women – is an example of how contemporary culture - music, dance, art and literature – are presented together and in dialog with medieval art. The Museum of National Antiquities in Stockholm opened up for discussions about the picture of holy Mary and the picture of women in the contemporary society. Helene Larsson talks about her experiences as a curator and the impact the exhibition had on the museum."

The workshop will include a theme sharing through working groups imagining possible strategies for development of contemporary dance scene and cultural institutions development in Macedonia.

Helene Larsson, Cultural attaché/Counsellor for Cultural Affairs, Embassy of Sweden, Belgrade, Serbia, holds a BA in ethnology, focusing on documentation of contemporary society and has been Exhibition Curator and project manager since 1999, at both Swedish Travelling Exhibitions and Museum of National Antiquities. She has been board member of “Spana”, Chairwoman of the Board of Swedish ICOM (International Council of Museums), Board member of ICEE (International Council of Exhibition and Exchange) and member of the educational committee at University College of Arts, Crafts and Design, course for art teachers. During past 10 years of work she has successfully promoted innovative systems of introducing new interdisciplinary methodologies in institution’s practice.
Corina Oprea, Assistant Artistic Director at Intercult/Stockholm since 2007, initiator of Fast Forward Dance/Video Laboratory, holds an MA in Cultural Management and Cultural Policies in the Balkans, worked as theatre director in Romania, Serbia and Austria and assistant producer at Centre Pompidou/Paris.
This workshop is part of Fast Forward Laboratory, an art and education project which supports the professionalization of the dance field in Western Balkans, by stimulating the intercultural and interdisciplinary dialogue in all countries from the region and by encouraging the further collaboration between Sweden, wide Scandinavia and the Balkans.
