Tristan Jeanne-Valès is born in 1954 in France and started to work as a photograph in 1978.

In 1978-1979 he starts to photograph rock concerts, theatre and dance performances, and becomes the photographer of the National Dramatic Centre of Normandy.

From 1982 to 2006 he works for the press agency Enguerand, which is specialized in the cultural field. In this period he is photographing theatre performances and portraits of authors, theatre directors, musicians and graphic artists. In 1980’ he starts to be interested in dance performances and different choreographers’ work, which he follows through the years.

In 2006 he has left Enguerand (which is still broadcasting his archives), in order to focus on more personal projects (reportages, publication, and exhibitions).
