NOMAD Dance Academy is a three-year project composed of education, research programme and programme for presentation and development of audience. For each of these programs, every year there is an open call for new students, researchers and artists; the ones selected obtain a grant for following and participating in the Nomad Dance Academy.
NOMAD Dance Academy Education programme ’09 started in Sarajevo on 27 February. This year, thirteen students from the region and wider, in the period of 4 month will travel, live, learn and create together.
After Sarajevo, NOMAD Dance Academy Education programme ’09 continues in Skopje, Sofia, Belgrade, Kanjiza, Zagreb and Ljubljana.
The second generation of students arrived in Skopje on 14 March, 2009. They will stay in Skopje until 31 of March 2009 and follow the programme composed of lectures, workshops and open discussions.
The classes and theory lectures in Skopje will take place at the National Music and Ballet School “Ilija Nikolovski – Luj” and Cultural Centre – Tocka, where the artists trough an open working method will gain a base of knowledge and contacts for their further international cooperation, which is one of the goals of the Academy.
The second generation of NOMAD Dance Academy is composed of 13 dancers, choreographers and actors from the region. In Skopje, they will be working practically and theoretically with respected choreographers, theoreticians and performing arts’ directors as: Jasmina Prolic (France/BiH), Sonja Zdravkova – Dzeparovska and Dean Damjanovski (Macedonia), Rok Vevar (Slovenia) and Isabelle Schad (Germany).
NOMAD Dance Academy Education programme is initiating and uprising the exchange, learning and creation in the field of contemporary dance in the region trough a programme of interdisciplinary workshops, lectures, students visits and meetings with artists and theoreticians from all participating courtiers in the region and wider.
