Still Lives is the first dance project in Macedonia, an international cooperation, dealing with the social engagement of dance as art and its wider application aimed at redefinition of the urban, socio-political and cultural context in which dance is created. The project will be present on 17 of June (Wednesday) at 18:00h, in Cultural Centre TOCKA.

Until now, this project has been staged in Zürich, Potsdam, Antwerpen, Hannover, Berlin, Essen, Bucharest, Halle, Lille; and for the first time in this region – in Skopje/ Macedonia.
The main project idea is to create a dance performance as a result of a cooperation established between the project authors (Isabelle Schad and Bruno Pocheron) and non-professional dances/ common people. The project is exploring the links between the body, urbanity, socio-political and cultural context and their development on individual and collective level of perception of the world and the personal positioning within.

Lokomotiva – Centre for New Initiatives in Arts and Culture is inviting everyone interested - people of all ages with or without experience in dancing, having some free time and enthusiasm - to take part in this project. You don’t need any particular dance and theatre pre knowledge, only interest for performing on the stage. The rehearsals are planned in a period of two weeks in October 2009, followed the performance will be staged in Skopje, on 30 of October 2009. There is no participation fee for the workshop, and unfortunately there are also no honorariums planned for the participants.
The project will be presented by one of the authors Bruno Pocheron, on 17of June 2009 (Wednesday), at 18.00h in the Cultural Centre TOCKA.
