This is the first international presentation of EXPRESS 2 TEMPS, after its premiere in France.
The performance EXPRESS 2 TEMPS is consecrated to the traces of memory that remain alive in us, say the authors Fattoumi & Lamoureux. The oeuvre is presented as a sort of journalistic report, testimony in the form of dance, based on the resetting of their first piece, the duo HUSAÏS, which made them well known on the choreographic scene. With this oeuvre they stared their twenty years fruitful collaborations that brought them up to here, as they say: “to look back together in our joint trajectory”.
The first step in the creation of EXPRESS 2 TEMPS is to convey the duo HUSAÏS to a four young dancers-collaborators, this duet that set down the determinant parameters of the choreographic approach of Fattoumi & Lamoureux. From this perspective, together with the dancers they are creating the new posture of the oeuvre HUSAÏS.
EXPRESS 2 TEMPS sets into perspective two moments of their personal trajectory, far separated in time, allowing distance in the evocation of the creative process, a process constantly in movement, transferred to time that passes and the time that registers an oeuvre of life.
The choreographers Hela Fattoumi & Eric Lamoureux had a nomadic carrier in the past, in which they realised numerous residencies in France and other parts of the world. They are regularly associated to major choreographic events in France (Montpellier Danse, Biennale de la Danse de Lyon, Festival d’Avignon…) Beside their own creations, Héla Fattoumi and Eric Lamoureux always developed various pedagogical projects all over France. From the begging of their collaboration until now they have realised more than 20 choreographies that were presented on many different international festival in France and around the world.
Their first duet Husaïs(1989) won the SACD award for the best first work at the representative choreographic competition Rencontres Internationales de Bagnolet in 1990. Same year they created their own company Fattoumi & Lamoureux and they received in 1991 the SACD award for New Talents. From 2004 they are working as art directors of the National Choreographic Centre in Caen/ Bass Normanide.
