INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE “Professional status of contemporary dance in the Balkans” is dedicated to professional dancers, choreographers, producers, managers and educators and intends to open questions on cultural, political, and aesthetical position of contemporary dance in the Balkan region.
International experts, theoreticians and practitioners will gather to discuss status of this art form has in the Balkan countries, as well as potentials of the Balkan Dance Network for further development and promotion of dance through the project Nomad Dance Academy.

Nomad Dance Academy will start in September 2007 as the first regional systematic and in-depth contemporary dance education programme.

Beside the conference programme, a showcase of selected performances by Balkan artists will be offered to all participants.
