Alternative film/video Festival was organized for the first time in 1982 by the Academic Film Centre in “Student’s city” Cultural Centre. In that time its initial idea was to document and define in theory the trends, to point at the values and new creative possibilities in the fields of alternative film and video in Yugoslavia.

After more than a decade break (1991-2002) as a result of the war-political situation and breaking down of Yugoslav Federation, the festival was renewed in 2003 with intention to explore and reconstruct the image of the alternative film and video production on the territory of ex-Yugoslavia; identifying the urgency and necessity for reintegration and need of establishing the line of continuity in this sphere.

The last festival edition for the first time had an international character; 400 applications from 39 countries, 69 screened in the competition and 39 in parallel programme part called - Panorama.

Continuing the last year experience, Lokomotiva in collaboration with Multimedia centre - Mala Stanica, onTuesday, March 13, 2007 organize a projection of the best achievements of the Alternative film/video Festival 2006.
