DOUBLE SUICIDE directed by Masahiro Shinoda, 1969, 104 min., black and white. An audacious adaptation of Bunraku (Japanese traditional puppet play) and Kabuki play of the 18th century, demonstrating highly stylistic Japanese theatrical tradition as well as the 1960s experimental modes and aesthetics.
